The hotel looks great at forst impression, the room was clean and very nice. On closer inspection the hotel could do with a little maintenance to bring it to a good standard, for example the patio needs weeding, several lockers in the spa do not work and there are cracks and broken glass in the restaurant windows. I would say we were disappointed with the restaurant. The food was not great, not cooked to the request (asked for medium rare steak and got it basically eaw in the middle; the duck breast came out with the skin not cooked/crispy), the black forest gateau was dry and chewy at the same time. I would have put it to the bad day, but the next morning the cooked breakfast was also below expetatikns, with most of the food being served barely look warm and the scrambled eggs looked very questionable. Long story short I came home with very upset tummy. If you are staying in the hotel I would suggest to eat somewhere else.

The property is showing heavy signs of wear. Lots of small maintenance issues just not touched. Could be so much better. Quite disappointing.

Lovely rural location and welcome at Reception. Room ready early. Lovely characterful room. Good amenities. Food great but a little on the expensive side. Good Spa facilities. Treatment good choice. Changing rooms felt a bit dated and lockers difficult to operate. Great cooked to order breakfast and great quality. Would stay again.

Wonderful overnight stay. Lovely staff. Enjoyable dinner in hotel restaurant and also breakfast the following morning. Not too keen on indoor pools in hotels in general. Locker rooms need a bit of TLC. Would stay again

I booked the hotel for myself and my daughter for a spa break for couple of days, we had a lovely time together. The location is great, very quiet and has great view, at the same time very close to the town centre. Bed is very comfortable, food in the restaurant is a bit limited, so we mainly ate in the town centre. One big problem for me is the gate for the build block is not soft close, every morning the Big Bang followed with each door opening was soooo loud, our door was shaking with it. I am a light sleeper, my sleep in the morning was very poor.

The setting is beautiful and the perfect place to relax with friends. I asked for boules for the boules pit and they found them, meaning we could have a lovely relaxing day on the lawn. The only thing I felt was that as we had arrived the day after a wedding, maybe they need to employ more people to clean the rooms knowing how busy they would be. Also have more people on the desk for checkout after a wedding.

No alcohol available! The venue does not have an alcohol licence. This was lost about 5 weeks ago according to staff. Not great when you want a night cap and not advised beforehand. Nothing else around to have a drink. The staff were very warming and the service was good. Booked dinner for the second night of the stay. Food was good, service amazing. But they only emailed that day to say about no alcohol available. Room was ok. The premium room had no heating in the bathroom and was freezing cold. There was also a door to a small patio area for the room, but the door was broken so unable to use. Whilst the staff were great i would not recommend the hotel.

It’s clear that attention to detail has been prioritized. One of the standout highlights was the spa. The facilities were excellent, and the atmosphere was tranquil—perfect for unwinding. The pool area was spotless, and the treatments were first-class, leaving us feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Dining at the hotel was also a fantastic experience. The food was beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and served with a smile. It’s evident that the team takes great pride in the quality of their service. Overall, I’m delighted to say that Voco Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa has more than redeemed itself in my eyes. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with top-notch service. Can’t wait to return!
